The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas

It’s not bragging if it’s true!  Georgetown is a very special place.  With it’s beautifully restored Victorian Courthouse Square, Georgetown is a beautiful and cultured treat just at the edge of Austin’s high-energy bustle.

The Sweet Lemon is within easy walking distance of an amazing array of activities and attractions!

Sample Texas wines at the Square’s tasting rooms, browse antiques and local artisans at the unique storefronts and galleries downtown, enjoy a live performance at the Palace Theater, hike or bike  the trails along the San Gabriel river (bikes are available from the Visitors Center and the Public Library) and much more.

Enjoy the Williamson Museum (it’s free!), the new Art Center located in the Historic Firehouse #1 (circa 1892), and admire the Victorian commercial architecture that has resulted in Georgetown being designated an Arts Cultural District by the state of Texas. You will quickly discover that the Square lives up to its slogan: The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas!

Downtown Georgetown boasts a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance of the Sweet Lemon, from delicious, casual, family friendly choices to fine dining options. Some of our personal favorites are below. Contact us if you want to arrange a special package or need anything at all!

Restaurant Recommendations:

Coffee – sure, Starbucks is less than half a mile away… but you can also walk a block to go see Ian who is probably right now roasting up a fresh batch at local favorite Cianfrani’s.

Breakfast – Georgetown’s most well known diner, the Monument Cafe has been delighting diners with fresh, local food since 1995. Newer entrant Ruby K’s offers a mean lemon ricotta pancake.

Lunch – Get educated with a burger, fries and a shake at Burger University (but don’t even think about trying the Full Ride!); grab a quick sandwich at Thundercloud Subs, or try the healthy Asian-inspired food at Nancy’s Sky Garden.

Dinner – you can’t go wrong with the delicious Tex-Mex and margaritas at Dos Salsas, but get there early if you want to avoid the wait. If it’s upscale Mexican comida you’re craving, enjoy it on the patio or in the courtyard of El Monumento, which also features a first class bar. Delicious seafood, steak and best view of the Square await you on the balcony at Gumbo’s; Tony and Luigi’s is the place for Italian; the Hollow will satisfy your need for a multiple course French experience; and the venerable Wildfire is always a good choice.

Late night – don’t turn in before enjoying hand-made pizza, craft beers on tap, and live music at Roots Bistro or 600 Degrees!
